One other rule of thumb is never stick your card behind the bar, loads get cloned that way. Was a spate of petrol stations cloning cards in the South East, only taking a few quid at a time where people wouldn't recognise it. Multiply that by 100,000 cards and it's big bucks. Only takes a second to swipe and therefore clone a card...

thats fair enough but this way is very limited in knowing how good a track actually is every dirt track will have to get -- from me because i dont like dirt and every track that has just 1 annoying bit will get a -- this way definatly doesnt give an accurate opinion on a track but if its what we are doing then i shall start being less generous

no back to 13.99 I was to slow. Pyro - good turn of pace and great for running into a crowd and spraying everywhere, you dont usually get kills, but it does reduce the health of all those you hit so making it easier for your team mates to finish them off. Engi is okay, but I find somehow even a fully spec'ed auto cannon go's boom to easy so I end up getting bored or frustrated. Cant get to grips with the spy. Soldier is a good all rounder and I do go for Heavy when there are loads of players, but his slow pace is annoying.
  • Subject: PGR server - by: UK Watch Yer Back
For those new members amongst us, its important for me to tell you the following: Roughly 2 years ago, a member and a few others left to create their own team called PGR Racers. Part of the reason for this (but certainly NOT the only reason) was that I banned a player called sicko from the server for foul language and this was constant. Unbeknown to me, he was a friend of the member that setup PGR racers. From that moment onwards for several weeks, I was the target (and a few others) of abuse on the server and on email and on MSN, it was pretty constant. It finally stopped when I threatened one particularly member with legal action. (being called a paedophile constantly on the server when its full, is not funny) I left things as they were for a few weeks, and a couple of their members slowly came back to the server to play, but whenever i was in there or when i joined, the comments started again, and it was at this point, I banned as many PGR racers from the server that were in there. After almost 18months, A few weeks ago, it happened again....from one member when i visited their server...they banned me. I really dont want to involve solicitors, but I WILL if i have to. Rather than going down this route, I would like you ALL to understand WHY I have banned PGR from the servers, and i will continue to ban any PGR player that comes into our servers. The ONLY reason for doing this, is to keep out of their way, and for them NOT to start making comments again etc etc etc.....I am too old to start playing games with silly people. From this point onwards, I would strongly suggest that you keep OUT of their servers.....If you join, you will only get banned pretty much straight away, and it will give them the opportunity to say things about me, which are completely and utterly untrue. As i say, its just children being stupid and knowing no better. This is a very serious post, and I am very serious about the above. Admins and Mods, please ensure every single NEW player that joins, knows the above. Thank you. ps....this post is NOT for debate.

  • Subject: Map specific tactics - 2fort - by: UK Sexton
I've decided to slowly get some map specific tactics going. First up is 2fort - the most popular and universal map in Team Fortress 2. This wasn't written by me, it was written by an admin from my TF2 clan. Classes: Sniper/Pyro/Scout/Spy/Engi (yeah you read it right ^^) Soldier Soldier Demo Medic Engineer The main idea behind this suggestion is to establish a reasonable defence in our base at ALL TIMES. We are to prevent the enemy from entering our base and will not open up the defence when we're attacking, because we don't want them to cap our intel in exchange or even spawncamp us which would make our attack useless. So hear me out: Defence: Soldiers: Two soldiers at the main entrance, watching the sewers (and also ready to defend the main entrance). One of them should periodically go down the stairs up to the point when he can see if there are any enemies in the sewer tunnel, as a forewarning measure. Spam them, but don't engage, instead just report, get back to the second soldier and get ready to spam the stairs. It is important that we know exactly how many people are down there. It is unlikely, that they will go back to their base through their sewers and even so - we don't care about that. We just have to know how many people we are to expect from the sewers at any given time (as well as how many people are in other areas of the map). Medic: Medic acts as a mobile dispenser, sitting on top of the grate healing people through the hole. There he is relatively safe from all kind of damage, while still being able to heal everyone below. The medic should only drop down if he has an uber ready and there is a big attack with likely usage of enemy uber going on. Other than that he stays put, only running away if everyone below him is dead. After that he should get close to the spawn, helping out the engi and whoever is still alive. The uber which the enemy started at the main entrance or sewers will be out by now, so the chances to overwhelm them are high. Demo: You are staying up on the grate with the medic. Stickying the area below you and spamming grenades down there if someone shows up. I'm aware that in this position you are somewhat limited, but the idea behind this is, that after an attack in the main/sewer area we still have a medic and a demo + sentry and whoever is left in the courtyard to hit them hard and they will be hurt by then. So don't drop down unless you are absolutely sure you can get them. Pull back to the spawn area stickying the courtyard instead. You are also responsible if there is anyone coming through the battlements, so you might want to put a couple of stickies over the exit there. Engi: You know what you're doing Wink your sentry has to cover the battlements entrance and the courtyard. There aren't many places to do that but usually you don't have to rely only on your sentry. The dispenser has to be in the room next to the main entrance (the one below our spawn area) so the soldiers can reload and heal if they really need it and medic isn't available for some reason. Additionally if you have the time, put up a teleporter to our intel room. That way we can at least try to get there quick if someone manages to sneak through. Other than that you should be watching the battlements entrance and obviously be aware of spies. If you need any help call it out right away, there should be someone close to you at all times. Sniper/Pyro/Engi (that would be me): I wrote as many classes up there because all of them only have limited use depending on what the enemy team is doing. Usually on defence I will be sniper and pyro. Usually in sniper mode I will overlook the enemy battlements and forward area and, given my poor performance as a sniper, I will miss all of them and call them out to our main defence force at the main entrance. Wink If I failed and for some reason cannot be on the battlements anymore (stickies, rocketjumping stuff and scouts trying to get in) I will switch to pyro and try to get behind the enemy once they enter our base or guard the battlement entrance if there is anyone on the battlements. I will only be engi if our main engi is down and I will only be it until the engi respawns strictly keeping his sentry alive. Then I will switch to sniper/pyro again. Offence: Basically there is almost none. Our best chance without completely opening up our base would be a scout entering the base while 5 out of 6 enemy players are in sewers or in our main entrance or a spy in the same conditions. The defensive force should stay where they are at all times, the only case when we push out is if the enemy intel magically disappeared from the enemy intel room and appeared somewhere at the main exit of the enemy base. So it is basically only me (Scout/Spy) who will go on offence and probe the enemy defence. The only times I would do that would be if: - there is a reasonable amount of enemy players in our sewers (as called out by the soldiers) - there are also multiple people in front or in the main entrance of our base, leaving almost no one (ideally only the engy) in the enemy base - and our medic has uber, which makes successfull defending a big probability. As long as we're one or more down, don't have a sentry up and don't have uber, we're in full defence mode with me being a sniper/pyro/engi as described above. What I will do is, as a Scout: jump over to their battlements to see which way the sentry is looking. If the entrance is unguarded (or the sentry is looking the other way) I'll try to slip by the spiral. Get straight to the intel then get it out of the straight stairs - there I can win the most distance/second as a scout which will make the next retrieving of the intel easier if I choose to go for it again once killed. Spy: infiltrate the base without engaging anyone. See where the sentry is then get to the intel and try to get out through the different route. If I go down and the intel is at a place that cannot be shut off, I will go for it over and over again as a cloaked spy until it is at a place we can get to as a team. The rest of the team would only go for the intel if it's somewhere around the main enemy exit and only if there is no one visible in the sewers (at that point I would switch to a scout again). That would be all. Now for some specific situations: OMG they are camping our spawn!!!: Well that shouldn't happen... if you are caught in the spawn, switch your class to something that will survive longer. Pyro or heavy is advisable, be carefull about the classes that already there. The only exception to this would be the engineer with the sentry still standing (unlikely at this point). Then there is one thing I need to verify: as you know there are two spawns. I believe if you switch your classes long enough you will eventually respawn in the other one, from here you can use the hole exit (not the battlements one, likely to be camped too or be overlooked by a sniper) and try to get the spawncamping bastards from the courtyard area. Someone (probably a spy, genious) got by our defense and has our intel: Well, if he didn't sap the teleporters, then a demo, pyro or soldier should use it right away. If the teleporters are down we need just one unit each going down both ways. Demo should go through the spiral, as he is closest to it and can shut it off rather effectively, the long stairs exit is guarded by the sentry and whoever gets there next, should go down there and check. So we shut him down, without giving up to much of our defense (ideally, I will be around as a pyro, so only the demo would have to go through the spiral). There is a big attack in the main entrance/sewers and I don't have uber (this one is for the medic, duh): stay above as long as you can without taking damage and then get the hell out of there, help defend the courtyard area and don't forget about the engi. Get uber as soon as you can, use it hit the bad guys, get back to your usual position and repeat. DON'T GET YOURSELF KILLED, you're up there for a reason. Reports: Soldier - let everyone know how many people you've seen in the sewers. Medic - let everyone know as soon as you have the uber (a big element for the decision if I'm going to attack). Engi - let everyone know if spy's sapping ya sentry or if you see anyone going places he is not supposed to be. Specifically call if you died and your sentry isn't dead yet (as well as if you need help building your sentry up, i will switch to engi for that). Demo: report anything going on in the spawn area (if someone comes through the battlements, though I should be able to report it first). Sniper/Pyro/Engi (me): I will try to report everything that is going on in the area in front of our base and on our battlements, as well as units that I see dropping to the sewers area.
  • Subject: Tactics - by: UK Sexton
    1. Heavy + Medic Combos These are vital. If you are playing as Heavy, don't try to attack by yourself. Always try to pair up with a Medic, you will be much stronger that way and stand more chance of advancing. To find a Medic, stand near your main respawn whilst repeatedly hitting 'E' to shout for 'medic'. Most Medics know that a Heavy is a healing priority, and will come to heal you out of instinct. Once paired with a Medic buddy, you can advance effectively. If you are paired with a good Medic, he will ubercharge you just before big blood battles. 2. Spies Never trust anyone. There is always a chance they could be a Spy. Pyros must always be on spy checking duty, flamethrowing everywhere to ensure that any spies lurking can be found. If you are not a Pyro, look for Spies the easy way; cloaking and uncloaking in front of you. If there is none of this, shoot anyone in front of you. If they are not a spy, they should shoot to prove they are not a spy. If they are a spy, they will probably continue running without turning around. If this happens, continue shooting and hit X then 2 to shout 'Spy!' to alert the rest of your team. 3. Engineers If you are an Engineer, make sure you build your sentries in viable locations. Put them somewhere hidden but in a busy area, such as a capture point. This will ensure you score high kills, and protect the captures. Upgrade all your structures to full immediately, this will render them less vulnerable. Build your dispenser next to your sentry, so they it can heal you and provide you with metal whilst your repairing your sentry. NEVER leave your Sentry alone - ever. Stay with it, so that you can repair it if it ever comes under fire. If your sentry is built far away from your respawn area, the construct a teleporter from the main respawn to your sentry to ensure you can always get to it quick if you was to die. If it isn't far from your respawn area, then don't bother putting a teleporter to it. In that case, put your teleporter to somewhere within the enemy base. Once built, hit 'U' to talk to your team and notify them of your teleporter and where it leads to. Teleporter usage increases your score. 4. Medics The Medic class is a fairly simple concept to some others. Scoring is easy, as all you need to do is heal people to build up a slow but sure bundle of points. However, you must be effective. Make sure you are ALWAYS healing somebody - even if they don't need healing. This will boost your ubercharge, so that it is ready for when you need it (ubercharge gives you and your healing buddy invulnerability for a short period). Each class is prioritised. HEAVIES are a Medics priority, always try to aim for the Heavies. Offence classes are the most important; classes such as Engineers for example do not require healing. When your Ubercharge is ready, don't deploy it instantly. Find a buddy who will benefit from an uber, and follow them until they hit a nasty area - somewhere with lots of enemies or sentries. When the shooting starts and theirs or your health starts to decrease, deploy your uber. This will allow an advance, and to eliminate most of the enemies within that area. 5. Best classes for Sentry destruction Spy is the best class for Sentry destruction as it doesn't require a lot of work. You simply pitch the sapper atop the Sentry and wait. There is however a useful tactic in doing this. Place the sapper on the Sentry THEN attack the Engineer. The sapper disables the sentry before destroying it, so you can then take down the Engineer without constant rocket fire. Heavies, Soldiers and Demomen are also at the top of the list for best classes for Sentry destruction. Though never try to destroy a sentry without a Medic nearby - you won't stand a chance if enemies are nearby. Find a Medic buddy, and then head for the Sentry. Hopefully the uber will soon be ready, and that can help you to advance. Take a look at this Custom PC article: http://www.custompc.co.uk/features/601396/the-complete-guide-to-team-fortress-2.html It explains all the basics and essentials you need to know for playing TF2. The key is to practice. Find a server with around 24 people (that number is good to start off with), preferably a 24/7 2fort (2fort is the easiest map to grasp, and is the most played map in TF2) and, whilst focussing as one class - practice. Once you have mastered that, move onto some more classes and begin to perfect them. After a few months of shire practice, you will be a top notch TF2 player. Good Luck!

Hi all, Here is all the informations you should need for Trackmania United (as a new member of UKGP) TAGS The very first thing you need to do ingame is to put the correct tags in your name. To do this simply copy the following and paste it in front of your name on your profile page (found by clicking Profile button funnily enough - then nickname) $F00+$EEEUK$F00+ So for me I would have $F00+$EEEUK$F00+ SVRIDER - this will look like this +UK+ SVRIDER SOLO MODE GROUP In the game there is the opportunity to see others times in solo mode. This is by being in a group. It works the same as the automatic world/uk/england groups work but it is for UK Gameplayers only. To Join this simply go to your profile page, To the right you'll see a box called Groups. Click on ADD and it will ask you for login and password. These are as follows Login - ukgp Password - ukgplay Original lol but thanks to +UK+ Swaineee for setting this up. When you have inputted these click on subscribe NOT create. Now in solo mode you'll be able to scroll left and right through the rank screens and UK Gamers will appear. SKINNING Are you into car model skinning but not sure how to do it? Check out this very handy skinning tutorial by our very own +UK+ Dowders Skinng Tutorial (http://ukgameplayers.com/downloads/Skinning%20Tutorial%20by%20dowders.zip) NB - If you are running Nations Forever - other racers WILL NOT be able to see your skin so please dont ask if they can. If you are running United Forever - other racers will see your skin evenatually once your skin has downloaded into their pc - please dont ask every race - Can you see my car yet? SUBMITTING A TRACK? http://ukgameplayers.com/index.php/the-forums?func=view&catid=45&id=20467 SERVER COMMANDS While racing on our server there are numerous commands you can use to help you along. Tracks should be no longer than 1min 30 secs Tracks should contain enough checkpoints to ensure that no-one can take shortcuts in parts of the track to gain an advantage over anyone else. Tracks should not contain too many un-necessary graphics. Although some decoration is needed, dont overdo it. Tracks should be a mix of skill and speed or one of each. So if its a fast track, keep it fast, if its purely skill involved, keep it purely skillful. MOST IMPORTANTLY - Tracks should be easy enough for a newbie to follow, and not like some tracks I have seen, where you have to guess and have no clue which way to go. This turns people away from the server more than anything else. IF, you have to use some skill to jump or move from the main track onto a different part, ENSURE you put up a sign or several to indicate this, nothing worse than getting near the end of a straigt or curve, to find out that you missed the turning or at the end, its not clear where to go at all. Horrible. When saving your track, please save it, using the colour coding we use throughout: $F00+$EEEUK$F00+ xxxxxxxxxx (x's being the name of the track) Finally, try to include the following images into your track please: When using these signs in the game editor - firstly place a sign, then click on the little paint bucket to the right of the screen. The sign will become highlighted. Click on it and then url - into the corresponding url from the list below and clikc ok - the sign should now be there. Info about tracks for the rounds server can be found Here (http://ukgameplayers.com/index.php/the-forums?func=view&catid=45&id=21957) http://ukgameplayers.com/uklogo.jpg - http://ukgameplayers.com/uklogo.jpg http://ukgameplayers.com/signup1.jpg - http://ukgameplayers.com/signup1.jpg http://ukgameplayers.com/register1.jpg - http://ukgameplayers.com/register1.jpg http://ukgameplayers.com/join1.jpg - http://ukgameplayers.com/join1.jpg http://ukgameplayers.com/danger1.jpg - http://ukgameplayers.com/danger1.jpg http://ukgameplayers.com/skins.jpg - http://ukgameplayers.com/skins.jpg Sponsors http://ukgameplayers.com/Sponsor1.jpg - http://ukgameplayers.com/Sponsor1.jpg http://ukgameplayers.com/Sponsor2.jpg - http://ukgameplayers.com/Sponsor2.jpg http://ukgameplayers.com/Sponsor3.jpg - http://ukgameplayers.com/Sponsor3.jpg Track design info compiled by +UK+ WatchYourBack Once your track is complete and ready for testing - upload it to the download section of this site and one of the admins will happily test it for you and if it's good enough it will be on the server as soon as. MODS If you feel like more of a challenge then use a mod for the track. Mods can either be downloaded on the web or purchased online with coppers, just google for 'TM Mods' and you'll find a few soon. The important thing is putting them in the right folder so your game can load them for you to use in the editor. Starting path: C:/users/'user'/documents/TrackMania - This should be your starting path we'll advance from here. In this folder there should be a map named 'Skins' open it to find a there are 2 more maps inside, Avater and Horn (unless you have already being adding various other skins and stuff. If not, proceed.) You have to create the enviroment map for your stadium and the map for your mods yourself. Just add the 2 maps so your path looks like this. New Path: C:/users/'user'/documents/TrackMania/Skins/Stadium/Mod In the last folder 'Mod' you can put all the mods and locators you download. If done right they'll be loaded with the game and when you go into the editor and go Create - Stadium - Mood Select you should get another box that allows you to pick the skin you with to use for your new creation, if not go trough the steps again and make sure the path is correct. COLOUR CHART for TEXT CHANGES. Use this link to view http://ukgameplayers.com/trackmania_colours.gif Additional note: Like car skins, a 'Mod' is a zip file 'DO NOT EXTRACT IT' unless it's a pack and the locator and the mod itself are in the zip file, with or without a locator. I generaly only use mods with locators, it makes life a little easier for those with less powerfull connections to load the sometimes just awsome looking mods. Info compiled by +UK+ Lionheart Copied from a previous sticky to enable this post to be at the top.

Good idea guys for a PRO SERV. DT, you know im sure that the rules state that it must be comp tracks etc and how they are always very tech and so on. However, on the tmrs pro racers (90k) server, the tracks are the same as the ones on tmrs 2. So i duuno, there must be room for negotiation with nadeo on tracks, or, they just have it up n running and no one has noticed. Cant see that though. Another thing, 90k servers only allow 12 people at a time to race, but on tmrs, if the server is full, you join as a spectator and then type /re and you can then join in as racer. I have seen over 20 people on at once doing this. So anyway mate, just thought id mention these things so you can look into them yourself while planning to set up. Im sure you would all agree that UK tracks would be preferable to the comp ones. They are real stinkers lol

  • Subject: AMD is back ... - by: UK LooZa
I can not underline enough what Tecnojedi is mentioning ... (gamer) mates: don't buy useless cpu power, we need graphic performance ! Instead of buying a high end cpu and a midrange gfx card you always get much more from doing it the other way round...midrange cpu & high end gfx are offering the highest graphic quality and highest frame rates. Orange :) This is not about AMD or Intel...it's about how much performance we get for our money... Since Intel got back to the Pentium M design in the Core 2s, I am again one of the "Intel guys" as you mate (before I used AMD Barton cpus as many others...). But without AMD Intel would still torture us with the horrible Pentium 4. The i7 is not yet an option, unless you get sponsored by a rich uncle or so, because you have to through away your fast hardware to buy a very expensive X58 board, three modules of expensive DDR3 RAM (to make use of the triple channel mode) and a new air cooler. After that, the graphic card is still too slow to make use of the i7 power ... unless you have a triple GTX280 SLI system. In fact to get by far enough cpu power at an affordable (=sensible) level you now have two equal choices...where before there was only one. In addition I expect prices for Intel's and AMD's most interesting quads will drop in the next month as Intel got competition again after 2 years.

Hi Core, Besides the IFX-14 the Ultra Extreme is the best air cooler available...good choice tho :) I tested also Scythe Mugen and Ninja 2...quite ok, but far away from the Thermalrights...I put them back into the box ;) The temps I have with the oc E8600 are only possible when grinding the uneven surfaces of both cpu & cooler before, plus using liquid metal as a thermal paste. For the fan I use the Scythe Slipstream 1900. The Silent Eagle 2000 is almost as good and a bit quieter. Especially the heatspreader surfaces of the Core 2s are always a disaster. Only grinding these resulted in 5° to 12° lower temps.

  • Subject: World's worst car? - by: UK Phantom
The worst car I have been in is my Dad's Nissan micra when I was younger. It was an ok car but when it got old it was really rubbish because you had to turn the engine off every couple of minutes otherwise it would over heat. One time i was going to an away rugby match but luckily there where loads of traffic lights on the way so we could turn off the engine at each stop so it overheat.

Welcome hope you have a good time and hope to see you on trackmania sometime soon and on the forums. :)
  • Subject: Members and the forums - by: UK iFrag
Yeah just like Core said, WYB has already addressed this issue, you may or may not remember he did a mass cull of inactive accounts about 4 months ago, he sent an email out to every single member AND changed the homepage to address the issue of people not using the website and not using the forum. As far as I know this worked well, but if the amount of accounts on here isn't effecting the speed of the site then there is no need to cull =0)

Track: +UK+ Clark Author: F1Fanatic There are two checkpoints from which it's not possible to continue: the one before the big loop and the one before the final jump over the gap (before the last bend). Track: +UK+ Wipeout Author: WYB When restarting from the checkpoint immediately after the end of the dirt section (on the slope), it's not possible to gain enough momentum to make it over the following gap. Good track though! :)

  • Subject: What time did everyone crash out - by: UK Lodder
Nice one guys. I really enjoyed reading all of your replies.:) So WYB must have been playing trackmania or something like that with a nice cold beer at 3 o'clock in the morning, whilst Tec must havee been soooooooo bored, doing nothing but watching TV, then getting woken up by the kids. On the other hand, i also feel sorry for Nutter, as he got woken up at the crack of dawn after watching the fireworks on BBC 1. (very dull):-) I had a grape fight, then after, my friend and I went to some hotel roof and chicked grapes at the people standing outside, then legged it.B)

L4D comp sounds like a hoot. Also how about,I know this ruins any recruitment chances, a friends only 4 player server for UKGP members. Then I can annoy you all with my reckless gung ho playing style.

  • Subject: UK vs Spain - by: UK Lodder
I'm reallt sory guys, but one of the guys has backed out cause he said he has basketball training every day. He is just talking crap, cause he must be able to queeze in 1 bloody hour. Of course not. This has really pissed me off as we have been trying to arrange this for the last 3 weeks. We have wasted all this time, and especially Swain, as he is a busy man. There is not much point in doing 2 vs 2, so I think that's the end SORRY

  • Subject: Internet hasn't been working - by: UK Lodder
No problem mate. There is one thing. One of the guys i don't really trust and one can't really rely on him, so i might have to find another person to race on their team. I have one person in mind, but he might be busy, so i will try my hardest to find someone who really is willing to do this. I still haven't downloaded the tribal car yet.
  • Subject: gripe - by: UK Kunitaro
Most trackmakers when making a track - make it look nice for the mod their using, so not only does putting on a new mod make it look bad in most cases but it does annoy the author since the track then looks nothing like they wanted to, so yea i'm guessing this is how Dowders feels and I don't blame him
  • Subject: Trackmaking question - by: Beeno
Hi dowders, and good to see you around again dude. Yeah, united server was taken down as most of you trackmaniacks are nations nuts lol, but dowders if you have any island ones already made id sure like to see em for my solo games as i like your tracks. If you do , you still have my e mail mate.
